As I mentioned in a previous post, this blog, as well as christianpiatt.org, is going away. Not sure how I got so many things spread all over the place, but I’m finally getting it together all in one place. my podbean podcast is also going into retirement, so if you follow that and want to figure out where it’s going, as well as the blog, read on…

There are two ways to follow the blog. One is through an app on facebook called NetWorkedBlogs, which basically just picks up the RSS feed from my site. But everything I publish goes through there. If you’re on facebook and prefer to keep things together there, go here:

CLICK THIS LINK TO FOLLOW MY BLOG VIA FACEBOOK

If you want to follow either the blog, the podcast or both directly from my website, you can pick up the RSS feed in the top, right corner of any page at www.christianpiatt.com, or you can go directly to the feed here:

You can also do a search for my name in iTunes and follow the podcast there if that’s your preferred way of tracking podcasts. The podcast’s name is “CHRISTIAN PIATT OUTCASTS.”

Finally, I have an eZine I’ll be publishing from my site called WORD, which will come out roughly once a month. It’s free, and you can sign up from my site. If you already signed up for the FAITH PORTALS newsletter, it’s the same thing, just retooled a little, so no need to sign up again. I’m looking for fresh content to share through this other than just my own, so if you have an article, podcast, video, etc that you think my readers would dig, hit me up.

Peace,
Christian Piatt

Here’s an interview I did recently with Zachary Bailes of the website, “Crazy Liberals…and Conservatives.” We talked about the State of the Christian Left and much that faces organized religion in a challenging century ahead.

Listen as I interview Christian Piatt author of Banned Questions About the Bible and forthcoming book Banned Questions About Jesus. We discuss the power of questions, progressive Christianity, and the need to share your narrative.
Listen. Enjoy. Engage. Respond.

This is a recording of an radio show I did on KCSJ 590 AM with Randy Thurston for his show, “Pueblo Now.” We discussed the need for alternative media for a community and how consumers figure out what agenda lies behind a media outlet.

I’ve added a new podcast related to the BANNED QUESTIONS book series. This podcast deals with the following question:

Aren’t women treated poorly throughout the bible? Why would any intelligent modern woman today even want to read the bible?

The following is an edited-down version of the keynote lecture I gave to the Young Adults Disciples gathering in Las Vegas in October, 2010. The message discusses privilege, what it means to be white, the nature of violence, and how we can creatively respond to systems of oppression and injustice without responding in kind with violence.

There is also an audio clip from an interview of Nell Irvin Painter, author of The History of White People, with Stephen Colbert.

Our Transitional Regional Minister, Jose Morales Jr., offered the message last Sunday at Milagro, our church. It was titled “Authentic Worship” and Amy Piatt, co-founder of the church, pastor and also my wife, introduces him.

Though I’d share:
Authentic Worship, by Jose Morales

Enjoy,
Christian

We have folks ask us all the time what worship is like at Milagro. And although we usually podcast Amy’s sermons on the church podcast, we don’t usually record the whole service.

But since it was Easter, we decided to do the whole thing, edited down for time, and share it here:

Let us know what you think, or better yet, come join us some Sunday morning.

I’m working on a new book lately called BE A MAN, which seeks to answer the question about what male identity looks like in the twenty-first century. Part of the project involves interviewing other folks about what they think it means to be a man in a postmodern culture. These two podcasts are excerpts from an interview I did with Ryan, who actually was born as Tiffany and has undergone the transgender process.

It turns out that there are lots of things about male identity that we men take for granted and are never consciously aware of. But for someone born as a woman who now identifies as male, there’s a heightened sensitivity around matters of gender.

To hear the interviews on my podcast, check out http://christianpiatt.podbean.com.

Christian
